About Us

How we maintain this site

Without question, we are living in turbulent and uncertain economic times. Unexpected financial hardships, job losses, stock market crashes and the “Credit Crunch” have created a financial climate of anxiety and fear.

Problems with money and debt are on the increase with over 6 million (one in four) families in the UK struggling to meet their financial commitments. Government and voluntary agencies are struggling to

cope with the demand for their services.

Personal debt has spiralled out of control and a lack of effective financial education is giving rise to a generation of people who are struggling to understand how best to manage their finances.

With so many voices proclaiming their opinions, how do we know what to do? Where do we find peace?

The purpose of this website

A few years ago we set up a financial counselling service in our church offering people in our community independent and trusted financial guidance and support. We offer a sympathetic ear and the opportunity to discuss their financial situation and the difficulties this often brings for them and their families.

Each of our clients came to us with a unique situation and over time as we helped them to deal with their problems we gained a lot of knowledge and experience. This sparked an idea to share this accumulated knowledge with others - other churches could adopt this simple outreach opportunity and most importantly, help people in their local communities as well.

We therefore set about creating this website with a view to it being a useful resource tool for any financial/debt counsellor helping their client through difficult times. There must be many churches out there with members of their congregations able to provide such a ministry. Financial counselling is a great opportunity for churches to reach out and meet the real needs of real people in their communities.

This site is an accumulation of our knowledge to help people in such situations. It's a one-stop-shop that brings together a lot of pragmatic and practical resources that can help signpost people through what is often a complex subject. Our approach has already made a real difference to people's lives - see our Case Studies by clicking here.

How can this work in your church?

Essentially you have two options:

Once you have decided which option is best for your church then we simply encourage you to get going, get out in to the community and provide your service. Please let us know how you are getting on by Contacting Us - we will be more than happy to share our experience and give you access to the useful Church resources we have developed.

Whatever you decide to do then we hope you will continue to use the content of this website as a resource tool. Once introduced to the content of this website then there is no reason why your clients cannot also continue to use the site long after you have helped them. In fact, there is no reason why you, your friends, family, etc., can't use it. So why not . . .

We aim to keep this site up-to-date with practical advice for managing money, empowering individuals by providing them with tools that can help them to better understand their finances - enabling them to plan for a more secure future for them and their families.

Why not become a member today!

The development of this website was made possible through the support of voluntary financial donations and the time and effort of individuals willing to work at no cost to create this site.

There are some very simple things you can do to help us maintain and grow this site.

Firstly and most simply, refer people to this site!! If you think it can help them then please let them know about it!!

You may also contribute any money advice or financial tips on our Blog - click here if you have something to share with other members of the Trusted Finance community.

Or perhaps you can contribute an article to our quarterly financial newsletters - there are many "money advice" websites out there but most are looking to make profit and few approach money from a biblical perspective. Can you help?

Finally, why not sign-up yourself or your church as a member of the Trusted Finance community. Click here for membership details.
